  • Emollient Cream:
    Good for most decubitus wounds, very hydrating
  • Protective Barrier Ointment:  Good for areas with potential for soiling
  • Gel:
    Good for tunneling areas or dry wounds
  • Polyox Bandage:
    Good for high draining wounds
 
Notes:
-
If local circulation is poor, nifedipine 0.2 - 10% may be added to  preparation. Nifedipine works well for potential gangrenous areas.  
- Medication is best used 3 times daily.
- Expiration of cream is 10 days from date of compounding.
- Expiration of protective barrier ointment is 30 days from date of compounding.
